WHAT IS HALAL?
Halal is an Arabic word that translates to "permissible or lawful". For any food item to be considered Halal, it must be permissible according to Islamic law. Halal meat cannot be a forbidden cut (such as meat from hindquarters) or a forbidden animal (such as pork). The animal must have been fed a natural diet that did not contain animal by-products. In other words, halal enforces animal rights and the humane treatment of animals.
